What is Activista?

Activista is ActionAid's network of students and young people across both rich and poor countries, who are all campaigning for a HungerFREE and poverty-free world.

Since the summer of 2007, Activista volunteers, music promoters and musicians have been running a range of global music and festival events, creating further awareness of and support for the campaign.

The rich countries of the world are responsible for climate changes - while the poor countries bear the burden. The rich countries have a huge climate debt to pay! Our Climate Debt Agents were at the Un Summit in Copenhagen making politicians remember their obligation.

How can we end hunger?

Hunger is mostly caused by people disregarding the rights of others – not by natural causes as many people think.

For example, when people are pushed off their land and can no longer provide for themselves, when women are paid such low wages that they can not afford to feed their families properly and when governments fail to protect their people from hunger - these are all abuses of human rights.

If you find hunger unacceptable help us force governments to respect and protect people’s rights Act Now!
